Welcome to Fickes Glass Act

September 25, 2011
The rain held off for this past Saturday’s event at the Lebanon Street Fair and the weather was actually quite nice.  The event appeared to be well attended, but not many buyers.  It was not a stellar sales event for Fickes Glass Act.  Nice day, chatted with a number of nice folks, spent the day with our daughter Erin, whose help was greatly appreciated, as usual.   Also had a visit for our grandson, Henry and his mommy, Caitlin.

I recently ran across an article on cleaning stained glass that I thought I would link on this site.  Turns out as I had been recommending, it really need minimal cleaning, just the occassional dusting and if really needed, cleaning with water and very mild soap and occassional waxing when needed.  Cleaning Stained Glass.  I do caution you that if suction cups are being used to hang your stained glass, please be sure to press on the cup occassionally (once a week or so) to ensure adequate suction.  I do not recommned suction cups for heavier pieces.  They just cannot support the weight.

I will be at the Mechanicsburg Senior High School for the Upper Allen Women’s Club (GFWC) 20th Arts, Crafts and Collectibles Show on October 29, 2011 (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.).

As of 09.23.2011
